Prevalence
About 40 people with faimily name Čanji live in Croatia today, in 13 households. There were 50 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in 7 Croatian counties, in 6 cities and 6 other places, mostly in Vukovar (<10), Zagreb (<10), Knezevi Vinogradi in Beli Manastir area (<10), Sesvete (<5), and in Koprivnica (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1924 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
