Ćurković families are Croats and they are mostly from Sinj area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Western Bosnia (Tomislavgrad area) and in Sinj. In places Pasić and Kazaginac in Western Bosnia every third inhabitant had the family name Ćurković.
Prevalence
About 1500 people with faimily name Ćurković live in Croatia today, in 560 households. There were 290 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 46 cities and 61 other places, mostly in Zagreb (390), Split (215), Suhac (90), Zadar (90), and in Sinj (75).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
