Zubić families are generally Croats and they are mostly from Zabok area and Krapine , less frequently Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zabok area and in Slatina area. In Kometnik-Zubići in Slatina area nearly every inhabitant had the family name Zubić.
Prevalence
About 450 people with faimily name Zubić live in Croatia today, in 180 households. There were 440 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 28 cities and 56 other places, mostly in Zagreb (65), Dukovec in Zabok area (50), Vodjinci in Vinkovci area (30), Svaljkovec in Zabok area (25), and in Krapina (25).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
