In Croatia, Zubalj families are predominantly Croats (from Opatija area ), rarely Slovenes (also from Opatija area ), and very rarely Czechs (from Pakrac ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Rijeka and Nova Gradiska.
Prevalence
About 30 people with faimily name Zubalj live in Croatia today, in 14 households. There were 30 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in threee Croatian counties, four cities and threee other places, mostly in Rijeka (10), Studena in Opatija area (10), Zagreb (<10), Kusonje (<10), and in Prekopakra (<5).
