Zoraja families are usually Croats and they are mostly from Solin area , rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Solin area and in Split. In Nisko in Solin area every ninth inhabitant had the family name Zoraja.
Prevalence
About 100 people with faimily name Zoraja live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 90 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 20 percent. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 14 cities and 9 other places, mostly in Split (20), Nisko in Solin area (20), Kastel Stari (15), Otok in Vinkovci area (15), and in Zagreb (<10).

Family name Zoraja is present in 16 countries worldwide. The family name "Zoraja " is used by small number of people in Switzerland , small number in Germany , and small number of people in the United States.
