Zemljić families are Croats and they are mostly from Oroslavje area. According to some sources they are from Krapinske Toplice area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Cakovec. In Gornja Pačetina in Krapina every ninth inhabitant had the family name Zemljić.

They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 14 cities and 21 other places, mostly in Zagreb (80), Cakovec (20), Senkovec in Cakovec area (10), Gornja Pacetina (10), and in Ervenik Zlatarski in Oroslavje area (10).
