About 50 people with faimily name Werner live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 30 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 80 percent. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 12 cities and threee other places, mostly in Zagreb (20), Belisce (<10), Zlatar-Bistrica in Oroslavje area (<10), Bukovec Zelinski (<10), and in Split (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
