Vuletić families are predominantly Croats and they are mostly from Omis area. According to some sources they are from Dubrovnik area (Ravno) or Montenegro, rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and in Omis area. In Dobranje in Omis area every fifth inhabitant had the family name Vuletić.
Prevalence
About 2000 people with faimily name Vuletić live in Croatia today, in 860 households. There were 1500 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 40 percent. They are located in all Croatian counties, in 62 cities and 151 other places, mostly in Split (330), Zagreb (290), Osijek (100), Dubrovnik (80), and in Rijeka (65).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over forty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
