Vukman families are usually Croats and they are mostly from Trogir area , rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Trogir and in Trogir area. In places Seget Vranjica and Seget Donji in Trogir area every fifth inhabitant had the family name Vukman.
Prevalence
About 790 people with faimily name Vukman live in Croatia today, in 310 households. There were 470 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 70 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 29 cities and 38 other places, mostly in Trogir (175), Split (85), Zagreb (55), Hrvace in Sinj area (50), and in Pirovac in Vodice area (40).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1926 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
