Vračar families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Duga Resa area , whereas often Croats. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Duga Resa area and in Zagreb. In Kruškovac in Gospic every third inhabitant had the family name Vračar.
Prevalence
About 120 people with faimily name Vračar live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 220 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 17 cities and 22 other places, mostly in Zagreb (30), Rijeka (<10), Karlovac (<10), Bukovica Utinjska in Duga Resa area (<10), and in Pula (<10).
Outside Croatia
Family name Vračar (including: Vracar , Vrachar ) is present in 19 countries worldwide. The family name "Vracar " is used by some 80 people in the United States , small number in Germany , and small number of people in South Africa.
