Volf families are usually Croats and they are mostly from Cabar , barely Slovenes. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Cabar and Rijeka. In Donji Okrug in Delnice nearly every inhabitant had the family name Volf.
Prevalence
About 510 people with faimily name Volf live in Croatia today, in 240 households. There were 750 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 38 cities and 68 other places, mostly in Zagreb (65), Rijeka (60), Trsce (30), Bjelovar (20), and in Resetari in Nova Gradiska area (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned about one hundred times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
