Vlajnić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Obrovac area , often Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Slavonski Brod and in Daruvar area. In Velika Klisa in Daruvar area every sixth inhabitant had the family name Vlajnić.

Prevalence

About 150 people with faimily name Vlajnić live in Croatia today, in 80 households. There were 340 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased significantly.
They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 24 cities and 18 other places, mostly in Slavonski Brod (25), Zagreb (10), Jaruge in Zupanja area (10), Rijeka (<10), and in Zadar (<10).

Outside Croatia

At least seven families with this surname emigrated from Croatia to: Switzerland (3), Austria (2), the United Kingdom (1), and to the United States (1).
