Vlah families are Croats and they are mostly from Prelog. According to some sources they are from Rijeka. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Rijeka and Prelog. In Srdinac in Djurdjevac area every fourth inhabitant had the family name Vlah.

About 530 people with faimily name Vlah live in Croatia today, in 240 households. There were 620 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent.
They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 27 cities and 66 other places, mostly in Rijeka (70), Zagreb (60), Jurdani in Opatija area (30), Prelog (25), and in Donji Kraljevec in Prelog area (25).
