Višić families are usually Croats and they are mostly from Drnis area. According to some sources they are from Koprna, rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and in Drnis area. In Koprno in Drnis area every third inhabitant had the family name Višić.
Prevalence
About 930 people with faimily name Višić live in Croatia today, in 390 households. There were 680 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 40 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 41 cities and 72 other places, mostly in Split (185), Zagreb (110), Zadar (90), Sibenik (55), and in Solin (45).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
