About 50 people with faimily name Vitali live in Croatia today, in 16 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number more than doubled. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, in 8 cities and four other places, mostly in Sucuraj on the Island of Hvar (15), Sveti Filip i Jakov in Biograd na moru area (10), Split (<10), and in Stari Grad (<10) and Vrbanj (<10) on the Island of Hvar.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1606 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
