Vanjek families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Daruvar area , but often Czechs (from Grubisno Polje ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Grubisno Polje and Zagreb.
Prevalence
About 150 people with faimily name Vanjek live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 140 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 10 percent. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 14 cities and 20 other places, mostly in Zagreb (30), Grubisno Polje (20), Donja Rasenica (10), Dugo Selo (<10), and in Bracevci in Djakovo area (<10).
