Surname Valjak in modern Croatia

Valjak families are Croats and they are mostly from Zlatar area and according to some sources from Scepanj near Breznicki Hum. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Zlatar area. In Zadravec in Lepoglava area every sixth inhabitant had the family name Valjak.

About 800 people with faimily name Valjak live in Croatia today, in 320 households. There were 780 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant.
They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 32 cities and 96 other places, mostly in Zagreb (245), Sesvete (35), in Kolarec (25) and Vinicno (25) in Novi Marof area, and in Bojnikovec (20).
