Valenta families are almost entirely Croats and they are mostly from Rovinj area , rarely Italians, and Czechs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pula and Pazin. In Zamask in Pazin every seventh inhabitant had the family name Valenta.
Prevalence
About 410 people with faimily name Valenta live in Croatia today, in 170 households. There were 330 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 20 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 31 cities and 41 other places, mostly in Zagreb (55), Rijeka (20), Slavonski Brod (20), Pozega (20), and in Motovun in Buzet area (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1923 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
