Urošević families can be both Croats (the family name originates from Pula ) and Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Serbia and in Pula. In Boljevići in Podrinje (Bosnia) every second inhabitant had the family name Urošević.
Prevalence
About 120 people with faimily name Urošević live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 16 cities and 7 other places, mostly in Pula (30), Zagreb (30), Split (10), Rijeka (10), and in Zadar (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1925 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
