In Croatia, Ukas families are Croats (from the Island of Murter ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and Sibenik.

Prevalence

About 40 people with faimily name Ukas live in Croatia today, in 16 households. There were 30 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 20 percent.
They are only located in threee Croatian cities and four other places, mostly in Jezera on the Island of Murter (25), Split (<10), Zagreb (<5), Zadar (<5), and in Rogoznica in Trogir area (<5).

At least two families with this surname emigrated from Croatia to the United States.
