In Croatia, Tursić families are mainly Croats (from Beli Manastir area ), less frequently Bosniaks (from Middle Bosnia ), and very rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Bosanian Posavina (Modrica area). In Gornji Junuzovići in Middle Bosnia every fourth inhabitant had the family name Tursić.
Prevalence
About 30 people with faimily name Tursić live in Croatia today, in 17 households. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 14 cities and 5 other places, mostly in Sesvete (<10), Rijeka (<10), Trogir (<10), Zagreb (<10), and in Makarska (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1924 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
