Tržić families are Croats and they are mostly from Djurdjevac area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Djurdjevac area and in Virovitica. In Grabrovnica in Djurdjevac area every seventh inhabitant had the family name Tržić.
Prevalence
About 140 people with faimily name Tržić live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 120 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 20 percent. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 13 cities and 16 other places, mostly in Grabrovnica (40) and Pitomaca (20) in Djurdjevac area, Nasice (10), Rijeka (10), and in Klostar Podravski in Djurdjevac area (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
