In Croatia, Trtić families are generally Croats (from Ivanic-Grad area ), rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Ivanic-Grad area and in Zagreb. In Preodac in Western Bosnia every third inhabitant had the family name Trtić.

Prevalence

Only a few people with faimily name Trtić live in Croatia today, in four households only. There were 40 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased significantly.
They are only located in two Croatian cities and four other places, mostly in Klostar Ivanic in Ivanic-Grad area (<10), Osijek (<5), Knin (<5), Cabuna in Virovitica area (<5), and in Zgalisce in Vrbovec area (<5).
