In Croatia, Trost families are Croats by relative majority (from Oroslavje area ), equally Hungarians (from Beli Manastir area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Beli Manastir area and in Osijek.
Prevalence
Only a few people with faimily name Trost live in Croatia today, in four households only. There were 100 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased significantly. They are located in only four naselja i to in Knezevi Vinogradi in Beli Manastir area (<5), Zagreb (<5), Kotlina in Beli Manastir area (<5), and in Stubicke Toplice in Oroslavje area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
