In Croatia, Trampus families are almost entirely Croats (from Belisce ), barely Italians (from Buje area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Osijek and Belisce.
Prevalence
About 50 people with faimily name Trampus live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 30 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 60 percent. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, in 7 cities and threee other places, mostly in Osijek (15), Zagreb (10), Belisce (10), Rijeka (<5), and in Samobor (<5).
Outside Croatia
Family name Trampus is present in 16 countries on four continents. The family name "Trampus " is used by some 200 people in Italy , about 100 in the United States , and small number of people in Hungary. "Trampush " is used by some 100 people in the United States and small number in Germany.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1923 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
