In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Knin area and in Rijeka. In places Kom and Zrmanja in Knin area every tenth inhabitant had the family name Tojaga.
Prevalence
About 40 people with faimily name Tojaga live in Croatia today, in 20 households. There were 100 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased significantly. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, in 7 cities and four other places, mostly in Zagreb (10), Rijeka (<10), Velika Gorica (<5), Opatija (<5), and in Hlebine in Koprivnica area (<5).

Family name Tojaga is present in 12 countries on four continents. The family name "Tojaga " is used by some 50 people in the United States and small number in Austria. "Toyaga " is used by few people in the United States.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
