Tičić families are Croats and they are mostly from the Island of Pag. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born on the Island of Pag and on the Island of Pag. Na otoku Pagu every thirtieth inhabitant had the family name Tičić.
Prevalence
About 280 people with faimily name Tičić live in Croatia today, in 130 households. There were 220 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 30 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 22 cities and 20 other places, mostly in Povljana (50) and Pag (45) on the Island of Pag, Zagreb (30), Zadar (30), and in Donja Moticina in Nasice area (30).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1923 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
