Teklić families are Croats and they are mostly from western Bosnia. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Western Bosnia (Livno area) and in Split. In places Čaić , Orguz and Komorani in Western Bosnia every sixth inhabitant had the family name Teklić.
Prevalence
About 410 people with faimily name Teklić live in Croatia today, in 150 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 26 cities and 21 other places, mostly in Solin (110), Kastel Luksic (45), Sesvete (25), Kastel Gomilica (25), and in Zagreb (20).
Outside Croatia
Family name Teklić (including: Teklic , Teclici and Teklics ) is present in 13 countries on three continents. "Teklics " is used by small number of people in the United States.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
