Surname Taus in modern Croatia

In Croatia, Taus families are predominantly Croats (from Beli Manastir area ), rarely Hungarians. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Kutina and in Kosovo.

Prevalence

Only a few people with faimily name Taus live in Croatia today, in three households only. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant.
They are located in only two Croatian places: in Kutina (<5) and Batina in Beli Manastir area (<5).

The family name "Taus " is used by some 2000 people in Indonesia , about 1000 in Romania , and some 900 people in the United States. "Thaus " is used by small number of people in Sri Lanka , small number in the United States , and small number of people in Australia. "Taues " is used by few people in the United States.
