In Croatia, Talian families are generally Croats (from Virovitica area ), very rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Virovitica area and in Garesnica area. In Gaćište in Virovitica area every nintieth inhabitant had the family name Talian.
