Supan families are Croats and they are mostly from Daruvar area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Daruvar area and in Pozega area. In Novo Zvečevo in Pozega area every sixth inhabitant had the family name Supan.
Prevalence
About 80 people with faimily name Supan live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 90 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 12 cities and 8 other places, mostly in Sirac in Daruvar area (25), Golobrdci (15), Zagreb (<10), Lonjica (<10), and in Tuhelj in Klanjec area (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
