Surname Sukur in modern Croatia

In Croatia, Sukur families are predominantly Serbs, rarely Croats (from Bjelovar ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Middle Bosnia (Skender Vakuf area). In Kobilja in Middle Bosnia every sixth inhabitant had the family name Sukur.

Prevalence

Only a few people with faimily name Sukur live in Croatia today, in four households only.
They are only located in four Croatian cities and threee other places, mostly in Dreznica (<5), Ljubosina (<5), Virovitica (<5), Donji Lapac in Obrovac area (<5), and in Severin in Bjelovar area (<5).

Family name Sukur (including: Shukur , Sukkur , Sucur , Shukkur , Sukhur , Ssukur , Shukhur , Suqur and Suckur ) is present in 54 countries worldwide. "Suckur " is used by few people in the United States. "Sucur " is used by some 100 people in the United States , about 100 in the Netherlands , and some 70 people in Australia.
