In Croatia, Sukur families are predominantly Serbs, rarely Croats (from Bjelovar ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Middle Bosnia (Skender Vakuf area). In Kobilja in Middle Bosnia every sixth inhabitant had the family name Sukur.
Prevalence
Only a few people with faimily name Sukur live in Croatia today, in four households only. They are only located in four Croatian cities and threee other places, mostly in Dreznica (<5), Ljubosina (<5), Virovitica (<5), Donji Lapac in Obrovac area (<5), and in Severin in Bjelovar area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 2007 in source Encyclopaedia of Croatian Surnames.
