Sudar families are predominantly Croats and they are mostly from Belisce area , less frequently Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Middle Bosnia (Jajce area) and in Pakrac. In Bare in Middle Bosnia every sixth inhabitant had the family name Sudar.
Prevalence
About 850 people with faimily name Sudar live in Croatia today, in 370 households. There were 1000 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 45 cities and 79 other places, mostly in Zagreb (140), Ivankovo in Vinkovci area (85), Bizovac in Valpovo area (50), Osijek (40), and in Ribnica (35).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
