In Croatia, Stupić families are almost entirely Croats (from Ozalj ), barely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Ozalj and Karlovac. In Podgraj in Ozalj every ninth inhabitant had the family name Stupić.
Prevalence
About 40 people with faimily name Stupić live in Croatia today, in 15 households. There were 50 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in four Croatian counties, four cities and threee other places, mostly in Podgraj (20), Ozalj (10), Zagreb (<10), Primosten in Sibenik area (<5), and in Pula (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1926 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
