Straga families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Pakrac , often Italians (also from Pakrac ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pakrac and Lipik. In Strižičevac in Lipik every fifth inhabitant had the family name Straga.

About 190 people with faimily name Straga live in Croatia today, in 80 households. There were 160 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 20 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 14 cities and 26 other places, mostly in Lipik (30), Zagreb (25), Filipovac (15), Kutina (10), and in Plostine (10).
Outside Croatia
At least nine families with this surname emigrated from Croatia to: Germany (4), the United States (2), Australia (1), France (1), and to Canada (1). Family name Straga is present in 17 countries worldwide. The family name "Straga " is used by some 200 people in Venezuela , about 200 in Italy , and some 90 people in the United States.
