Surname Stevanović in modern Croatia

Stevanović families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from middle Bosnia , whereas often Croats (from Djakovo area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Vukovar and in Middle Bosnia (Zavidovici area). In Jošavica in Bosanian Posavina every fifth inhabitant had the family name Stevanović.

They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 39 cities and 56 other places, mostly in Zagreb (70), Rijeka (60), Vukovar (40), Borovo in Vukovar area (30), and in Osijek (20).
