Srša families are Croats and they are mostly from Cakovec area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Cakovec and in Cakovec area. In Gornji Koncovčak in Mursko Sredisce area every ninth inhabitant had the family name Srša.
Prevalence
About 260 people with faimily name Srša live in Croatia today, in 110 households. There were 300 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 12 cities and 42 other places, mostly in Sveti Martin na Muri in Mursko Sredisce area (30), Zagreb (20), Cakovec (15), Gornji Mihaljevec in Cakovec area (15), and in Sveti Urban in Mursko Sredisce area (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
