In Croatia, Solje families are almost entirely Croats (from Split ), very rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and Zagreb.
Prevalence
About 50 people with faimily name Solje live in Croatia today, in 14 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number more than doubled. They are located in two Croatian counties, two cities and four other places, mostly in Split (15), Srinjine (10), Zrnovnica (<10), Zagreb (<10), and in Vinisce in Trogir area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
