In Croatia, Sokoli families are Albanians by relative majority (from Rijeka area ), rarely Roms (from Kosovo ), and . In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Kosovo and in Rijeka.
Prevalence
About 50 people with faimily name Sokoli live in Croatia today, in 18 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in threee Croatian counties, four cities and 7 other places, mostly in Rijeka (25), Drazice in Rijeka area (15), Medulin in Pula area (<10), and in Podhum (<10) and Mavrinci (<5) in Rijeka area.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
