Slavić families are almost entirely Croats and they are mostly from Knin area. According to some sources they are from Opatija area, and rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Knin area and in Rijeka.

They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 42 cities and 56 other places, mostly in Zagreb (70), Matulji in Opatija area (65), Virovitica (45), Vinkovci (30), and in Split (20).
