In Croatia, Sauka families are generally Croats (from Bosnian Posavina ), very rarely Bosniaks (from Rijeka ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosanian Posavina (Derventa area) and in Vukovar. In Osojci in Bosanian Posavina every fourth inhabitant had the family name Sauka.
Prevalence
About 20 people with faimily name Sauka live in Croatia today, in 8 households. They are located in four Croatian counties, four cities and two other places, mostly in Vukovar (<5), Zagreb (<5), Rijeka (<5), Slavonski Brod (<5), and in Matulji in Opatija area (<5).
