Sarač families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Sinj , also Bosniaks (from middle Bosnia) and Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Sinj and in Banja Luka Region, Bosnia (Banja Luka area). In Halinovići in Middle Bosnia nearly every inhabitant had the family name Sarač.
