In Croatia, Salvi families are mainly Italians (from Rovinj ), less frequently Croats (also from Rovinj ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Rovinj and Pula.

Prevalence

About 30 people with faimily name Salvi live in Croatia today, in 16 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 40 percent.
They are only located in four Croatian cities and another small place , mostly in Rovinj (20), Zagreb (<5), Split (<5), Mali Losinj on the Island of Losinj (<5), and in Kali on the Island of Ugljan (<5).

"Salvie " is used by some 70 people in the United States and small number in Romania. "Salwi " is used by some 300 people in Indonesia , small number in the United States , and small number of people in the Philippines. "Shalvi " is used by some 100 people in Israel and small number in the United States.
