Roth families are Croats and they are mostly from Osijek. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Osijek. In Cvetnić Brdo in Glina area every ninth inhabitant had the family name Roth.
Prevalence
About 100 people with faimily name Roth live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 70 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 50 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 17 cities and 7 other places, mostly in Zagreb (40), Osijek (10), Varazdin (<10), Komletinci in Vinkovci area (<10), and in Zadar (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over forty times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
