Rojnić families are Croats and they are mostly from Labin area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pula and in Labin area. In places Rojnići , Melnica and Želiski in Labin area every third inhabitant had the family name Rojnić.
Prevalence
About 460 people with faimily name Rojnić live in Croatia today, in 180 households. There were 370 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 20 percent. They are located in four Croatian counties, in 11 cities and 37 other places, mostly in Pula (210), and in Loborika (30) and Vodnjan (20) in Pula area, and in Petehi (20) and Melnica (20) in Labin area.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1931 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
