In Croatia, Rode families are predominantly Croats (from the Island of Krk ), rarely Slovenes (from Slovenia ), and very rarely Slovaks. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Rijeka.
Prevalence
About 20 people with faimily name Rode live in Croatia today, in 11 households. There were 40 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved. They are located in four Croatian counties and threee other places, mostly in Baska on the Island of Krk (<10), Zagreb (<10), Rijeka (<5), Pula (<5), and in Opatija (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1929 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
