In Croatia, Res families are mainly Czechs (from Daruvar ), less frequently Croats (from Ilok area and Zagreb). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Daruvar and Pakrac. In Ljudevit Selo in Daruvar every tenth inhabitant had the family name Res.

They are located and two other Croatian places, mostly in Ljudevit Selo (30), Zagreb (<10), Daruvar (<10), Vukovar (<5), and in Karlovac (<5).
