In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and in Tuzla Region, Bosnia (Tuzla area). In Kovačevo Selo in Tuzla Region (Bosnia) every third inhabitant had the family name Remetić.
Prevalence
About 20 people with faimily name Remetić live in Croatia today, in 9 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located and four other Croatian places, mostly in Vrboska (<10) and Stari Grad (<5) on the Island of Hvar, Borje in Varazdinske Toplice area (<5), Zagreb (<5), and in Krizevci (<5).
Outside Croatia
Family name Remetić is present in 7 countries on three continents. The family name "Remetic " is used by small number of people in the United States and small number in Austria.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1929 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
