Reić families are Croats and they are mostly from Split. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and Zagreb.
Prevalence
About 190 people with faimily name Reić live in Croatia today, in 90 households. There were 260 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in threee Croatian counties, in 7 cities and four other places, mostly in Split (185), Zagreb (10), Solin (<10), Slatine (<5), and in Selca on the Island of Brac (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over forty times, the first time 1825 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
