Rebić families are predominantly Croats and they are mostly from Imotsko , less frequently Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Imotsko and Zagreb. In Donji Vinjani in Imotsko every eighth inhabitant had the family name Rebić.
Prevalence
About 1200 people with faimily name Rebić live in Croatia today, in 480 households. There were 1200 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 55 cities and 93 other places, mostly in Imotski (210), Donji Vinjani (150), Zagreb (150), Split (55), and in Osijek (45).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
